Go Live, audio normalization, gain and EQ on the station dashboard.
The new versions of the server streaming software support enhanced normalization on the back end. Some broadcasters have requests audio tools on the dashboard to control or shape the sound coming from AutoDJ or Scheduled Events. This way, they could do in-line audio processing on the station.
Realtime music visualization. Spectrograph would be nice..
Bringing back the Ability to Go Live on the Dashboard and talk over AutoDJ ..
Consider LiveDJ as well. Allow the Station to GoLive when LiveDJ is connected, then resume LiveDJ stream once GoLive broadcast is finished.
ability to edit MP3s uploaded to control fade in/fade outs.
ability to save live broadcasts

jerrythis would be *huge* as it's also something i'm looking into for my entire library. i know there is software out there that will allow me to normalize my own library and i'm looking into that but it's still a constant battle as i get new music. not sure how easy this would be but i dig it.

Scott BringhurstThis needs to be addressed ASAP. I've had a number of people tell me that their listening experience is degraded by poor sound quality and unequal volumes between tracks. This is NOT my problem. I use SAM Broadcaster to broadcast the same music on a weekly live show and there is no problem with the volumes between tracks. It is quite frustrating to make the effort to put a good channel on the air only to have people turn it off because of poor audio quality.

Bogdan Admin MergedDuring a longer track on AutoDJ mode, an ID could be played on top of the track. On Mixxx (and probably traditional radio station mixing software) this is called "ducking", and is a way to shout out the station name during a longer track.
-
26 Jul, '18
Bogdan Admin MergedEssentially, be able to set fade and mix times, or stop a track earlier than the length of the MP3.

KevinIt is an important feature to consider adding to the platform. It respects the listener and will retain them longer.

Robert BassI'm OK with it if broadcasters can enable / disable as desired. I do not want it enabled for my LIVE stream because I already have my own processing, but I would consider using it if I ever have to use AutoDJ.

Jim DeBaunAbsolutely. Coming from Sam Broadcaster I am trying to mimic what I had there. The processing and volume between tracks was excellent. I have confidence that this will be addressed as well as the cross fading.

Big Jim Shively MergedWould love to have a broadcasting app like Studio365 since I had surgery and can’t come into the studio to make announcements, please bring it back ASAP!
Ability to Go Live on the Live365 Dashboard. In addition to saving Live Broadcasts. -

Chris From Rockade Radio MergedI don't know, I think the original studio365 was a hit and miss software. it would be nice if they put a new first party software for broadcasters but I doubt they'll do it anytime soon.

Big Jim Shively MergedAll of us broadcasters would LOVE a broadcasting app, and if that app would give notifications whenever your station is disconnected, Thanks!
-
20 Dec, '18
Philip Admin MergedFor clarification, our broadcasters would like to get notifications through this sort of Station Manager app about when their LiveDJ encoder session drops. This would help them to know that there's an issue with their computer or Internet.
-
26 Dec, '18
Philip Admin MergedIdea: Also include the ability to flag tracks as "No Fade" for those that require a cold, hard start. Otherwise, the introductory vocal or hit would be missed by the fade. The flag would tell the system to start it at full volume regardless of the other cross-fade settings
-

Philip Admin MergedSome automation systems automatically seek out the silent parts of tracks and place markers for both the In and Out cues. The DJ can then go in and adjust the marker by frames/milliseconds to get the timing more accurate. The system generated cue point might cut off a note or noise that is part of the song, so it's good to be able to adjust each one as needed.
-

Tim Boudreau MergedWould like to be able to overlap all tracks manually without fading in and out the volume, so cold-start songs with no intro don't fade in, but fire at full volume. Would like to be able to adjust this amount of overlap manually per track individually with tenths of seconds increments.
Including the ID and Ads set to overlap by 1/10th of a second. ID's and Ads are too abrupt in dead space, even with all silence chopped off the music tracks. Sounds like the DJ falls asleep at the switch. Transitions not smooth enough. -
28 Dec, '18
John Lanier MergedYES! I love the track overlap idea much more than the fade in/out. For my programming and transition tastes, I think this would work much better for me. Thank you, Tim, for suggesting this. I hope the team can implement this soon.

Dan MergedIt would be nice to be able to add a leading or trailing track to any specific track you choose. Example: leading track: a produced "new music" sweeper attached to a new music track Example: Trailing track: new music track plays then trailing track, produced promo for a new music show or even a voice track so that you can back sell a track in automation while still sounding live

DJ Lorelei MergedEven though I use normalizing software to "fix" my mp3s before I upload them to the station, some songs are still playing on my station at a much lower volume than other songs, especially songs with spoken words in them. It would be nice to have the option to normalize the songs within the Live365 software so that they all play at the same volume recognized by the software that is broadcasting the songs.

Bill Grady MergedSomewhere in the edit track section, the ability to toggle the fade in and/or fade out for an individual track. That would allow the system to see when a song is either a cold start or a cold out, and bypass the cross fader when needed.

Allen Moore AKAJarhead DJ MergedThe previous incarnation of live 365 had a mobile app which would allow a short (max 90 seconds) on-scene recording to be played into the stream between scheduled songs when in auto Dj.

John C MergedThe ability to attach an audio file before or after a specific track so that each time the track plays the pre and/or post audio file plays to.
For example: you want to record a dj introduction to a song or provide some interesting fact about the artist of a song right after the song plays.
Currently it is very difficult to do this unless using a live DJ. If there were an option to attach a pre or post file to a track it would make it easier for those who don’t use a live DJ but would like to provide info and facts about a specific track/artist. -

Steve MergedThis would be soooooo cool. This would make our stations sound like a Pro-radio station. Sirius/XM the Highway does this all the time.
-

Jayson Tanner Mergedagreed. there's a lot of that "dj sounds like she or he fell asleep" or they can't find the right button to push, something. could easily be fixed by letting IDs and promos, recorded DJ breaks, etc, transition just as songs do.

David D DoerrierI agree with everyone on the thread - we need Compression. Out of all the great suggestions for upgrades to Live365 on this site, this is my #1 request. I have normalized all songs before uploading to Live365, but still hear volume fluctuations. Thanks.

12 Feb, '20
Dale HeizerLet's face it, there are no 2 CD's out there that are recorded at the same audio levels, this makes it hard to reduce complaints from listeners that one minute they are turning up the volume to hear a song, then turning back down when it's too loud. Normalization/Gain control is really needed so we don't lose our listeners. I have tried to normalize all songs before uploading to Live365, but there are still volume fluctuations. Please expedite this and here's to a successful 2020 on Live365!

SakeBito from Amanogawa Express MergedHopefully I'm talking about the same thing but... There were a lot of glitches, and when they "upgraded" the GUI it was virtually unusable - i kept the old Studio365 GUI on a thumb drive so I never lost it. But it was great to be able to build a playlist with a set song order, hit a button to run a DMCA check on it, and know that the playlist would simply - and seamlessly - repeat from from the first song immediately after the last, with no wrestling with a "schedule" necessary at all.

Randy Parker, PD MergedIt would really be a plus for Live365 to develop its own radio caster that is capable of capturing a broadcaster's audio and microphone input and broadcasts it live to listeners on mobile devices and the net. Oh! If it could display an accurate listener count too, that would be awesome.
