Provide more stream encoding formats: AAC, HLS

Provide a separate link for AAC broadcasting, as some directories require AAC and will not work with MP3.

Or maybe even allowing users to select if they want their station to broadcast in AAC or MP3 format, if a second link is not possible.

I would like to broadcast using AAC-LC at 64k. this will save on bandwith costs and more compatibilty among devices..I will sign up if AAC is allowed..

Hello, would love support for He-AAC v2 (AAC+). The reason is that for MP3 to sound good you can't broadcast anything less than 128kbps and this is data hungry not everyone expecially on mobile devices have access to unlimited data! Support for HE-AAC would allow 32kbps streaming that sounds as good if not better than 128kbps!

Agreed! This is my biggest issue with the new live365.. MP3 is a legacy technology and does not allow for low bit rates to sound good.

To whom it may concern:

I am a former member of Live365, and I have one question. Will Live365 offer AAC streams in the future? I hope Live365 would consider the option. If that is the case, and Live365 moves in that Direction, our station would return to Live365 immediately because my station broadcast at 320 KBPS! The audio quality is so much better, and I believe more owners would consider joining if the option were made available.

My vote is to also (or instead) support an AACP *uplink* for us live broadcasters, where we send a *single stream* that l365 would rebroadcast (i.e. decode and re-encode) it to whatever codecs and bitrates listeners happen to use.

AACP/modern codec availability is essential. MP3 is an inferior, legacy technology that should no longer be considered as a primary source stream.

To have the ability of AAC Streaming is groundbreaking and will be something that is very usable for all clients. With everything moving into a ‘digital’ world this would be the best time for Live365 to capitalize on.

HE-AAC is the way to go - I'm all for it on L365. 64kbps stream would blow any mp3 stream out of the water for quality. Twice the sound and half the bandwidth.
I have a dual stream and one is HE-AAC. Also using WAV or uncompressed FLAC source files makes every stream better - but it rocks in HE-AAC.

The ability to stream using Adaptive Bit-Rate Streaming using HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) would allow compatible players to seamlessly choose the most appropriate bit-rate for the available bandwidth from moment to moment. ABR streaming ensures each listener is always hearing the best sound without dropouts. HLS further enhances the reliability of the stream by sending audio as bursts of HTTP data, giving the player the opportunity to recover from quick dropouts. Live365's parent company offers Adaptive Bit-Rate with HTTP Live Streaming for other brands and has hinted that it could come to Live365. I'd personally love to see it happen!

Hi - users who enjoy the Traktor Pro platform would be very interested in seeing Live365 accommodate the Ogg Vorbis format to do broadcasts. Unfortunately there is a limitation between platforms whereas Traktor does not allow another format other than Ogg Vorbis, and Live365 does not support Ogg Vorbis. You will certainly gain more subscriptions by considering this feature! Thanks.

The Opus CODEC is now included in most platforms and easily trounces MP3 at 128kbps. In many tests, Opus sounds better than AAC. Any consideration for possible support for Opus at 128kbps? Perhaps for external feeds?

I was broadcasting AAC-HE (AAC+) starting 11 years ago and still use that where I don't need licensing with another service but had to downgrade to 128Kbps mp3 here because this is the only reasonable choice for licensing. I'd like to get AAC-HE and AAC-HEv2.

I've just upvoted the request for Live365 to support faster than 128kbps bitrates, and now am upvoting this one too.

Both are essential updates/enhancements to bring this generally excellent platform into line with present "best practices" and competitor products.

Definitely would like to see AAC supported, being able to choose a lower bitrate would be beneficial especially listeners with weak or a slower internet connection.
