Paid listener/listener suscription
Some current listeners and broadcasters have requested that we bring back this feature of the old Live365.
Listeners who pay might have an ad free experience, hear slightly different content from the broadcaster.

Joe Martinez MergedWe would like the option of listening to our favorite stations Ad-Free or reduced - even if we had to pay an annual fee for the privilege.

Chris from Rockade RadioAbsolutely not, I am 100% against having any kind of paid subscription at this time. maybe in a year or 2 but not now. also, why on earth are we going backwords? the old live365 is dead and we should think forward instead of backwards. 0f course live365 need to make money but subscription/paid listeners. NO!!. the paid subscription market is too damn crowded. too soon and too risky

Progressive Rock AZUSAI don't like this idea. I'm on a AD plan and all of my playlists have ad's inserted into them. I also have voice-overs in those playlists where I mention that a "commercial break" is coming up. How would Live365 "virtually" remove those ad's and pre-recorded voice-overs to support a dual environment??

Joe Martinez MergedI love the 'Easy Listening' music, but not so much the ads - especially during political elections.

Todd DeJarnatt MergedI was also wondering if there could be some kind of levels. 1st level free showing of our radio station and then a second level for a paywall type to get more of a subscription type for more committed subscribers.

Rick JansPaid subscriptions are a way for us listeners that don't want to create our own station to support the platform. For me, the only extra feature I would like to see is a way to store a list of my favorite stations so I don't have to keep urls in my web browser. Other than that, keep everything the same.

GreggI think I do have listeners who would prefer commercial free (with slightly different content). Perhaps the fee could be split between Live365 and the station.

DOKUN SHONEKAN MergedIt will be nice to give listeners the option to listen to Live365 stations without ads by charging a small monthly fee for those who don't want ads.

Maggie G / UV - Ultimate Variety RadioYES!!!!! Please bring back this option! I've chosen to pay for the ad-free broadcasting option, like I did with the previous Live365. I did so because I hate listening to commercials and my listeners told me how much they appreciated that I didn't have commercials.
Having listeners who paid for a commercial-free experience helped off-set my expenses since broadcasters received a share of those monthly fees, based on how long they listened to our station.
People who wanted to listen for free still heard the Live365 inserted commercials and that was fine, too. -

KevinI would like to suggest having the ability to turn my station into a subscription only broadcast. Since the demise of the VIP listener of the old Live365 days, there is no way to help pay for my station other than inserting commercials which is a whole different story. My broadcast is commercial free and I don have a few regular donations but not enough to make much difference. These few people pay to listen basically but the vast majority of bandwidth users pay nothing nor do they contribute. I would rather have a small handful of paying listeners than a huge number of free ones. If you're not making money from advertising, what's the advantage of having large numbers of free streamers that I'm paying for? I'd be happy with a few paying listeners, even enough to break even. This choice would be between the listener and the broadcaster and nothing to do with Live365 other than being able to allow only those paying listeners to hear the station. No other station would be affected.

Austin MillerThe ability for listeners to donate to stations.

James H Becker MergedPlease add a broadcaster controlled function that would allow listeners to support a station through a monetary donation. This feature would be similar to a go fund me effort. Live365 could establish a standard business fee or percentage from the donation.

DMRThe "pay for ad free content" is a good idea, BUT..... As pointed out by others, how can you have concurrent ad-included and ad-free content streaming? Not possible, other than playing filler music instead of ads, and that's only slightly less bad.
An alternative would be to "pay for faster bit-rates". That doesn't involve dual-programming, and gives listeners something of value in return for their kind support. Which brings me back to the long overlooked suggestions/requests/needs for faster-than-128kbps streams, and better-than-MP3 encoding...... -

Paul LandryI would like to see a paid subscription ad free option for the listener on the branded app addons and the player on computers and devices. As there would be no in app purchases available on the paid for branded app it would be good to offer listeners to download the app then offer an ad free version paid for or subscription. The costs of the add free listening service could easily be split between the station owner and Live 365. In fact, I don't think I would order the app add on without the ability for it to offer ad free paid versions of the app or the the online station.
