More Cross-Fade Control
Some have suggested cross-fading during playlists and I know cross is an option now, however the following would be suggested:
1. Intersect the cross at a designated db rating e.g. -30db
2. Max Duration of the fade in seconds: e.g. 5 seconds
3. Ability to adjust fade in and out in seconds. e.g. Fade out: 3 seconds, Fade in: 1 second
Option to enable or disable in/out crossfade on track by track basis.
Offer the ability to crossfade Station IDs, Promos.

RobHundred percent on board with this! Actually came here to suggest better fading in and out of station IDs and promos as the silence before and after them is terrible.

Alex H. NievesThis feature needs work. It should act like a "Blend" but I don't hear that. If I select a 3 second cross fade then I would expect the incoming track to intro 3 seconds before the playing track ends. I clip my tracks at the end with no dead space at the end still this feature does not crossfade well and to boot makes the incoming track like someone raising the volume at the last minute. I would love this feature perfected. It would definitely make a huge difference. Include Station ID too.

Tim BoudreauAgree with all the comments above. I have come to the point with my file editing where I have done all I can do. It's up to Live365 to get this feature fixed for us asap. My station will never flow well as long as I can't control overlap. I want overlap, no fade. I do my own fading on my files, and I want the next song or my announcement to come in full volume. I want overlap in .25, .50, .75, 1.00 second increments at the very least, if we can't get the ability to enter our own fractions.

BilldB based crossfade is a must-have feature for me. I tried using the autoDJ without it and quit because of all the dead air between songs. My offline playlist software fixes this perfectly with more intelligent crossfade and as soon as that is working here I'll switch to it.

FredI've tried many Crossfade Types, various lengths of Crossfade durations & Fade-Ins/Outs. But nothing I try removes a silent gap at the end of an element, which can sometimes stretch up to 7 or 8 seconds. There's simply no consistency regardless of the settings I select. Dead air can sometimes be 2 seconds and other times it's 8 seconds. I don't always need overlap; I just want them tight. Especially in & out of IDs, Promos & Stop Sets. We need more control over dB trigger settings.

DavidAn auto crossfade per track with the ability to set personal preference crossfade settings per track. Start of song/End of song settings and segue (crossfade) begins at the end of each song or promo, ID, etc. is essential for a radio station.
I've been in radio broadcasting and know that this is a given fir for any radio station. And of course audio processing., which is in another thread. I'll be happy to address that concern as well. Happy Broadcasting 😊 -

SakeBitoDissenting view: Crossfading vs. silence gaps should both be available choices. So I add silence buffers to the start and finish of every song I upload. YMMV, but if a listener is fickle enough to tune out over a gap, then arguably he wasn't into the station anyway. Personally I hate crossfading - it's disrespectful to the songs IMO.

John Lyman MergedOne thing that would possibly make auto DJ stations sound better would be to have the option to do either of these two things:
A) Have the option to disable crossfading on a per-track basis.
or
B) Have the option to disable crossfading globally; i.e., disable crossfading on tracks of a certain length or less.
The crossfading in AutoDJ mode is pretty good, but occasionally Station ID's, short promos, etc., get caught in the crossfading and it doesn't sound very professional.

John Farrell MergedCurrently, when an event has the 'strict' rule rather than flexible it comes to an abrupt stop. This needs to be a fade out instead. I have certain events that play multi tracks that are 3 or 4 hours long in a 2 hour slot so they need to be strict and not flexible but the abrupt end doesn't sound very professional.

MichaelI don't have too much problem as I edit each individual song anyway. I have notice tough that even with editing there IS still SOME space at times. I have worked with systems that allow to set crossfade for each individual track. Would be nice to cross sweeps too. THIS would be ideal IMHO.

Stephen AtkinsYes, you're on the right track. I echo previous comments that tighter control, whether overlap or just eliminating dead air is "essential to good radio". Live365 seems to have gone to great lengths to ease the hobbyist into this form of programming; Bravo! Now let's take the next step and make it easier for everyone to sound great also. Seems to me that would encourage customer loyalty, not to mention another benefit to sell.
No doubt my fellow broadcast veterans would agree on this lesson history has taught us: it's comfortable to be the only game in town; until you aren't. -

BenCan we please have the ability to crossfade IDs and sweepers?? It's awful that there seems to be no way to do this! There's way too much dead air and it sounds terrible.

Jorge MergedWe often encounter audio tracks with awkward silences at the beginning or end, creating unwanted gaps during playback. To address this issue, I believe it would be incredibly beneficial to allow users to directly trim audio and music tracks on the live365 platform. Additionally, offering fade-in and fade-out options would further enhance the programmer experience.

CarlLike others, I'm finding that regardless of Crossfade Settings in Live365, it's really not great. Other services that use Liquidsoap already have a smart crossfade feature which automatically detects and skips silence at the start of a track and analyses the end to find either silence or a fade to dictate when it should move to the next item. It then moves straight to the next item meaning playback is gapless. It sounds a heck of a lot more professional than what is currently on offer from Live365. Can somebody from Live365 comment on when this planned feature is going to be implemented? It was suggested in 2018 and it's now 2026!
